The
Lagoon company was originally created in 1984 as an extension of the
racing division of the French recreational boat builder, Jeanneau,
and was set up specifically to build racing prototypes. In 1987, the first
non-racing catamaran was launched - the Lagoon 55, a luxury
catamaran built using the same high tech composite construction
techniques as the racing yachts.
As part of a
booming world catamaran market, Lagoon has become one of the two
world leaders in production of cruising catamarans. Some
